Ryan Reynolds is one of the hottest actors out today. But what you may not know is that this hunky movie star started out on TV show called Hillside.

Hillside (American title, Fifteen) was a live-action television series that aired on YTV in Canada and Nickelodeon in the United States. Dealing with teenager and high school issues, it featured a large ensemble cast which underwent several changes over the show’s four-season run. The show was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia for seasons 1 and 2 and for seasons 3 and 4, it was taped at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

The series was Nickelodeon’s first and only teenage soap opera. It followed the students of Hillside School and dealt with a variety of issues including dating, divorce, alcohol abuse, and friendship. The series lasted from 1991 until 1993. Sixty-five episodes were produced.

In 1993, various actors, including Ryan Reynolds and Laura Harris were nominated for a Young Artist Award.
